The present project is based on the enhancement of the re-engineered version

of Teo, Teo2: the emotional Teo. As a rob ot designed to interact with children

with intellectual disabilities, the interactions henceforth designed part from these particular needs both of the children and the therapists. The problem attended was the fact that the therapy sessions done to help these children to learn the basic abilities, that they have trouble with, are in need of technological enhancements that can make possible great improvement in these children. Teo2 is then set to be both the tool for the therapist to teach children how to relate with others, and the playful companion that the children can interact with in a less confusing manner than with their human peers. The basic functionalities to achieve the solution of these problems were implemented, introducing the basic elements that enable the control of Teo2 and the basic intelligence to handle behaviors that can let Teo be an entity to interact with.
